چکیده

One of the last open problems concerning two qubits in a pure state is to find the exact local content of their correlation, in the sense of Elitzur, Popescu, and Rohrlich (EPR2) [A. C. Elitzur, S. Popescu, and D. Rohrlich, Phys. Lett. A162, 25 (1992)]. We propose an EPR2 decomposition that allows us to prove, for a wide range of states |ψ(θ)〉=cosθ|00〉+sinθ|11〉, that their local content is pL̅ (θ)=cos2θ. We also share reflections on how to possibly extend this result to all two-qubit pure states. BRANCIARD, Cyril, GISIN, Nicolas, SCARANI, Valerio. Local content of bipartite qubit correlations. Measuring bipartite quantum correlations of an unknown state.

We report the experimental measurement of bipartite quantum correlations of an unknown two-qubit state. Using a liquid state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance setup and employing geometric discord, we evaluate the quantum correlations of a state without resorting to prior knowledge of its density matrix. The method is applicable to any 2 ⊗ d system and provides, in terms of number of measurements requ...

Entangled graphs. II. Classical correlations in multiqubit entangled systems

Bipartite correlations in multiqubit systems cannot be shared freely. The presence of entanglement or classical correlation on certain pairs of qubits may imply correlations on other pairs. We present a method of characterization of bipartite correlations in multiqubit systems using a concept of entangled graphs which has been introduced in our earlier work @M. Plesch and V. Bužek, Phys. Rev. A...

Local Quantum Uncertainty and Bounds on Quantumness for O ⊗O invariant class of states

Quantum mechanics shows several counter-intuitive results when we are dealing with composite systems [1–3]. There exist peculiar type of correlations between different parts of a composite system commonly known as non-classical correlations. Entanglement is one of the most powerful non-classical correlation that establishes its importance in different information processing tasks. However, seve...

Genuine quantum and classical correlations in multipartite systems.

Generalizing the quantifiers used to classify correlations in bipartite systems, we define genuine total, quantum, and classical correlations in multipartite systems. The measure we give is based on the use of relative entropy to quantify the distance between two density matrices. Moreover, we show that, for pure states of three qubits, both quantum and classical bipartite correlations obey a l...

Nonlocality as a benchmark for universal quantum computation in Ising anyon topological quantum computers

An obstacle affecting any proposal for a topological quantum computer based on Ising anyons is that quasiparticle braiding can only implement a finite (nonuniversal) set of quantum operations. The computational power of this restricted set of operations (often called stabilizer operations) has been studied in quantum information theory, and it is known that no quantum-computational advantage ca...
